Another one of those tragic button factory explosions....
So sad.

That Tron stick needs to be liberated to a good home!!  8)

Very slick job on the monitor. Hmmm, maybe a nice rotatable monitor IS possible.

If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.

That's a Gauntlet cabinet. The Gauntlet monitor bezel never had glass over it. I don't think I could play much on that rig.

Wow, this is just like one of those 3d puzzles you stare at for hours trying to see the image.  At first it looks like a random placement of buttons, but if you are good at pattern recognition, you can see this is a 2 player panel (second player is rotated on right side), with spinner and tron stick in the middle.  Looks like he only screwed up one of the buttons (wrong color from the other player, otherwise it would be PERFECT (mess that is).  ;D

for those that are having trouble getting the 'magic eye' image to come into focus <grin>, you can see an itemized layout of it here:

btw, what games use 7 buttons?
Pull a year and a half strike- it's over 4eva..
besides, WHL rocks!

Button factory explosion is right! Damn.

A simple layout is always better IMO. Im only going to have 14 buttons and 2 joysticks on my control panel.

hmmmm, says the layout has to do with the natural position of the hand..

"The buttons were spaced to contour to the right hand when in a relaxed position"

Guess it depends on which planet you're from  ;)

Seriously though, in all fairness to Greg, he does explain his button layout on his site (for example my partial quote stopped right where it says buttons 1 - 4) Plus, it's his cab and if it works for him - more power to him.  I do like that motorized rotating monitor with the auto degaussing, pretty clever

Yeah, saw this in a thread I was reading earlier tonite.

The "relaxed" placement for the hands on P1 I can buy, but the problem is, in order for the angle of the hands to be correct for that placement, you've gotta be standing at an angle with the 90 degree corner poking straight into your stomach.   I don't see how that can be comfortable.

There's definately something to be said for ergonomics, but in this case I think that aesthetics shoulda spoken up a little louder.  ;)

D
If you can't be a good example at least try to be a horrible reminder.
