There is a thread on Anandtech ( http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=40&threadid=1723012&enterthread=y ) saying that these can be found at B&M Dollar General stores for $1.

They connect inline with your keyboard, so I assume that they have a keyboard encoder built in.
