FA: Arcade Emulator Video Game [WI]

Let's try this again...since someone felt the need to report my last auction for 'copyright infringement'.

Heh...you know I actually got back out of bed last night because I realized that I had forgotton the logo on the spinner knob.  I don't think the $%#*@ inside logo counts, but I blurred it just in case.  I don't want to take a chance of the auction getting removed again.  I was really close to selling it last time but was unable to reply to a couple of questions once the auction was gone.  :(

You're not supposed to have pictures of games or a listing (in your pic) of games that are not included, or are not available for legal download (starroms) per the ebay policy of the MAMEdevs.

You also have about 50 other copyright infringing pics (Sega etc.).  It may not have even been the MAMEdevs that had your auction pulled the first time.

Are you sure it was reported?  Or is it possible that the MAME devs/MAME keyword search found it?

In either case, sorry your auction gut pulled, but it's not like you weren't aware of the problems in your auction listing.

You're going to want to read this:

http://mamedev.com/ebay.html

I'm not too concerned about that.

It was the MAME devs that had it pulled.  It's not like I'm trying to make money off of their name.  It's like selling your car but not being allowed to tell people what kind it is.  If they want to go after people, maybe they should concentrate on all the different places that print mame graphics for profit.

AFAIK, the printers all have permission.

In your case, they just have to apply the same rules as anyone else.

I took your advice and added the "compatible with MAME(tm)" line.  The auction clearly states that no roms are include, but I removed the screenshot just to avoid confusion.

This thing has become a major pain in the butt.  First $500 takes it!  :P

If no one minds I'll change the topic a bit.

I actually have another cabinet that AP71 built (a jukebox that was also taking up too much room for him about a year ago) and can vouch for the quality.  It truly is much better than average construction, finish, and mounting.  Many would pay good money to have this kind of quality in there kitchen cabnits let alone there arcade cab.  I also had a chance to look at this cab. when I picked up mine (I believe the only change since I saw it is the cp) and it looked as if it was built with the same care and strength that the juke was.

I've been out of the seen for a while, so If this was covered by someone else when he posted for the last auction, well... it's worth repeating.

That all being said, I do realize that my words are probably going to go to waste in this forum, since most of us are more interested in fixing up (or building from scratch) rather then buying a ready to go item like this one.  Oh well.

Happy gaming,

John

The images are a little annoying.

But when you say its like having a car but cant mention what kind it is... Its an emulation cabinet not a mame cabinet.

Nice touch with the stainless steel CP, looks well built. Good luck selling it...

I didn't build the cabinet for this one.
