Need Help with AdvanceCD
« on: October 21, 2005, 12:03:08 pm »
Hi all, long time no post, lol.
Anyway's, Ive recently started using AdvanceCD and think its great.

Im having some proplems getting  MESS games going under it. Im trying to run SNES, C64 an Atari games. How do you get multiple emulators working under AdvanceCD? Also, how do I create the configuration file? I can only fine one *.rc file and its the one for advance menu.

Ive spent the last 3 hours googling and reading with no luck. The documentation seams sparse at best. Oh, and im using win2k to create the disk, nero 7 to burn.

If anyone can understand what im talking about, please help!!!  ???  :'(  :-[

i used to use advancecd for mame. worked really well.  with regards to multiple emulators the documentation and forum on the advancecd site is very poor. not something i persisted with

Thanks for your reply eggedd2k. Hmm, thats what im finding too. Thats why I thought I would try asking here. Its a damn fine implementation of mame, and as far as the mame games go, it rocks! Its just getting the MESS side of it going that seams impossible.

I tried editing the Advmenu.rc file, logically it should be something to do with the line:

emulator "advmame" advmame "advmame.exe" ""

So, because on the advanceCD site as well as in the included documentation it says that it includes advanceMESS, advanceMAME and advanceMENU, I added the line

emulator "advmess" advmess "advmess.exe" ""

This did nothing. Must mean that its not included nativly with in its linux OS. Hmmmmm, I dunno.

Anyone else out there use advanceCD, and gotten MESS games working under it?
