Any way of disabling insert coin on an IPAC?
« on: October 21, 2005, 04:48:33 am »
i want to use a coin mech rather than have the (tempting) option of pressing shift and one of the other keys to get a credit.

is it possible to disable the shift key combo that gives credits on an ipac?

You must remain strong my child. Find inner strength and restrain yourself.

Seriousl tho, open the WinIPAC utility, go to Table View, right click whatever is currently the insert coin shift button [usually P1 Start + P1SW1 (5)] and then select None from the list.

You could also just change the button required to insert a coin in MAME to whatever input you've hooked the coin mech up to.

I'd say that's your best option.

I don't know... I would say you should do both.

disabling any non-used keys are good... ESPECIALLY the start1 and start2 combo to ESC... I have NO idea why anyone would want that.  It messed up about 10 games before I finally put a keyboard on my cab and turned it off...

Set it to 5, and wire the coin input to output a 5 key
