replacing coin mechs
« on: October 19, 2005, 12:10:29 pm »
Hey there,

The last part of my project involves sorting out the coin door on my Taito Space invaders part II upright.

The coin door itself is fine, but its missing the coin button inserts. Do I need to source these from another Pt II cab, or are there other cabs I can take these from?

Secondly, the coin mechs inside are pretty knackered. Maybe 1 time in 3 the coin will drop into the coin box, and more often than not, it just drops onto the floor instead.

Can I replace the current mechs with more up to date ones? As I have very little experience with this, and the current coin door is very old, I'm unsure of what mechs will fit in their place, and don't really want to purchase mechs to find they wont do the job - as I'm in the UK parts are a lot harder to source :(

Replies much appreciated.

Jon.

Mechs are pretty much universal in mount.  The ones you have are likely fine, they might need a bit of cleaning.

Can you take a picture of the door?  Inside and out, please.
