Cabinet give, part 2
« on: October 02, 2005, 01:15:47 am »
Hey y'all, it's me again.  Back in July, I wrote asking if I should be worried that the cabinet had a little give to it.

Ok, here's the latest.

I was just playing Dragon's Lair and I suddenly noticed something.  We haven't actually added the crossbars / braces underneath, but what we did - FINALLY - get attached was the door several weeks ago.  I just noticed....it's not rocking anymore like it was with the door off.  Should I be worried that the give in the cabinet (which was there with door off) is now gone?

Still think I'm going to add the braces inside to be safe, but just wanted to see what you all thought...if closing up the front of the cabinet could have cut out the rocking of the cabinet (we're still new to this and I honestly had no idea if that one thing would have fixed so much).

To be honest I think that if you have the room to do this, put in a crossbar.  Better safe than sorry, in any case.

Yep, cabinet is now squared up as a result of the front door, but take the advice and add a cross brace. Your cab will be happy you did...
