Super Smash Bros. Look-alikes?
« on: September 30, 2005, 08:55:17 am »
Does anyone know of any games that are either PC or arcade (preferably emulated in MAME already) That are like Super Smash Bros.? It is a great multiplayer game that very much suits an arcade machine and was hoping to find similar games to it - the fun starts to wear off after playing it for about 6 years.

Yep. I know that - its one of the main reasons I bought two adaptoids, but I am more interested in games that are similar to it, not it itself.

I feel sorry for you. Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of the best games ever made in my opinion. You should look into picking up a gamecube and smash bros and incorporating it into your arcade machine.

That is great minwah (great FE btw, I use it and am making a theme for it right now), talkingoctopus and scott84 but I am only interested in PC or arcade games like it as I have already said  ;) I am aware that Smash Bros. Melee is great, and I'll have a look into that dreamcast one for fun but I dont have a cent to spare for an extra console - I've already poured too much money into this project!

Anyone else know of any games on PC OR ARCADE that are like Super Smash Bros. ?

Thanks again

SSB can be played through emulation? Every N64 rom I try doesn't work, must be the site I go to.

you got the latest version of project64?  it works the best for me.

even goldeneye and perfect dark are working great!  those were the last two games i was waiting to be emulated before i sold my 64.  and they are, so i did.

PowerStones was an Arcade Game.  It was a Naomi game.  I used to play that at Cici's Pizza after the football games when I was in High School.

eh, that's more aof a fighting game than ssb, although you can interact with the environment.  thinking about it some more, i guess it would be a good game for my cabinet, since only two can play at once anyways.

I totally agree...

Power Stone 1 & 2 are both a BLAST to play on the DreamCast.

PowerStone did work with chankast.  I didn't have a powerful enough system to really run it, but it was close.  I would bet a 3.4ghz+ might be able to run it full speed.

Also, a dreamcast in a cab is a good thing.  And pretty easy to do.  Depending on how your CRT is setup, you might be able to get a good swappable solution (like PC and dreamcast both jamma connections.  Sure not super easy to do, but very very doable.

I have a DC and a PC in a cab. It was very easy to pull off.
