Hello,
I am currently in the process of building ahome gym and I am trying to sort out  my video/audio options. I was considering in ceiling speakers..not sure on tht yet.....but as for media... I want to be able to play mp3, dvd, divx, mpeg movies and cable tv.......I have thought about purchasing a home theatre in a box and then buying a stand along DVD player to play all formats... i was considering a pc...but i want it to be clean and simple for the wife.....is there any other media player options? any players??? I am not interested in Networking to my pc

Hey, you'll find that most "theatre in a box" things now play like everything you want and more.  Theyre really nice too.  I've got a panasonic one with a 5 disk changer for only 150 CAD new.  Retail is about 700 though but just look around.  I cant recommend these enough.

Plays tons of media formats, gives amazing surround sound for the TV.... its great.

As for speakers in the ceiling, DO IT!  Im building a new house (hence the reason Ive been away) and one of the things I did for my room was add speakers all over in the ceiling.  Check out model homes, they all have em now.

Thanks for the post...just curious.. I am in Canada too.. which model of Panasonic did you purchase? what formats will it play? Also any reommendations for ceiling speakers?
