New Cab - Spinning Controls/Monitor
« on: January 13, 2003, 08:41:39 am »
Just thought I would post a link to my very ugly web page which has some pictures of the cab I am building.  I am about 80% complete and hpe to be done by the end of January.  Once the cab is done I'll make a much better website and post my plans.  If anyone has any questions prior to then feel free to email me, though until the thing is done and you can see the end result you may not have anything to ask!

I'm pretty dizzy myself from building the thing.  I've spent many car rides (commuting to work, that annoyance that keeps me from building the cab) thinking out the spinning monitor and spinning control panel.  Hell, just thinking of how to "stop" the control panel in each of it's 3 positions and keeping it nice and firm while playing it took a bunch of car rides!   I narrowed down my options on that to a couple that seem simple and effective.  Once I actually drop the spinning control panel in place I'll decide which of the two is the best idea.    I have a few other spinning control panel ideas too (one with 4 sides as well).   When I get around to making a "real" website I'll put some of those up too, hopefully giving someone a thought or two for their own project.

I just want to finish this thing.  If it weren't for all the holidays recently and family/work obligations I would have been done already.  Being the first cab that I've built, I'm really having fun designing/building it.  Spending many hours in Home Depot, Radio Shack and the Internet buying all kinds of nonsense on the thing.  I'm sure you all know the feeling!

Anyway, thanks to all for all the invaluable help I've gotten in this board over the months.    :)
