Happs reunion mspacman joystick

I just got one of those and mounted it in my control panel.  I mounted it from underneath and routed out 1/4".  However, the joystick balltop sits VERY low and I was just wondering...is that how it sits in the actual arcade cabinet or was I supposed to mount that guy from the top?

I believe those normally mounts on a metal plate about 1/8-1/16" thick.

But its generally a "low" or short joystick,  I have a friend with a Ms Pac cab and I cant believe how small the ball is and how short the whole thing is.  It works for those games though.

bottom mounting that stick (in wood at least) doesn't work, as you found out.  There is a mounting plate available that allows you to easily mount the stick from above the CP.  Alternatively, you could route out the top of the CP and recess the base into it from above; that's what I'm doing.

GroovyGameGear Versa-Ball replacement handles sold for the Happ Super will also fit the Reunion stick, and you can adjust the height on those.
