WTB: WG U2575 monitor chassis [US-NM]
« on: September 17, 2005, 12:40:10 am »
First off, I finally found a cab! It is a Taito cab, originally an "Under Fire" but converted to "Police Trainer". The cab came stripped of game, controls, and power supply but included the 25" monitor. Only problem is the monitor is missing the chassis. Thwe guy told me if I get a new or working chassis, the monitor should work fine. The monitor has the following information on the various stickers:

WG 1568212
100-00812-05
A63AGD01X
04RC0154-008

120V 50/60Hz
2.0A max

The guy I bought it from said it needed a U2575 chassis (med res monitor). If anyone knows where I can find one, reasonably priced since I have a very tight budget, can you please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Jared

A medium res monitor is not the best choice for a MAME cab.  The Ultimarc ArcadeVGA card won't drive it.  I think Advance MAME can force a Trident Blade card to drive it, but you'll have to muck about with that quite a bit- and even when you get it running, the non-medium res games (read:  practically all of the games you'll want to play) will not be running at their native resolution- which is the whole point of using an arcade monitor.

That tube MIGHT be compatible with a standard res chassis, or with a dual-res chassis- that's one that works at either medium res OR standard res.  I'd ask around in the Monitor/Video forum about that.

Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll post to the monitors forum and hopefully someone will know more about this monitor than me.
