Need help with fixing my DC
« on: January 09, 2003, 01:07:15 am »
Hey guys I have 2 DCs I have one that I use and the first one I have that I broke when trying to hack some pads. Well the controller ports are blown out and I was wondering if anyone could fix them or tell me what to do to fix them. Please reply. Thanx.

There is a small fuse (looks just like a blue resistor) on the joystick port board (right when you open up the case).  Remove the joystick port (4 screws, and the ribbon connector), unsolder the fuse, and solder and replace with a new one.  I don't know the amperage, but I've replaced with the smallest fuse I could find and works fine.  Warning: by replacing the fuse with a higher amperage (like what I did) you disk blowing out the main board and power supply if you ground out your joystick pcb again.  Try searching the net for the fuse type and you could probably order through Digikey.
