rare arcade boards?
« on: September 08, 2005, 11:53:28 am »
i'm wondering if there's a rarity list of arcade boards.  do the rare ones go for higher prices or does that just depend on how fun the game is?

i'm wondering what prices are for these boards:

contra
super contra
gryzor(european contra one player at a time)
top gunner
jackal(european top gunner)
raiden
raiden II
heavy barrel

I don't know about those ones. I'm not sure why Contra would be rare, it was pretty popular and every arcade had one.

I can say though that Ghouls n Ghosts fetches a nice dollar on Ebay.
NO MORE!!

The raiden boards usually go for more than I would expect ( I don't think I've seen one sell for less than $60 on ebay). I'm not too sure about the other ones but I could see myself paying $30-$40 for one of the contra boards (although If I were to buy any more PCB's a contra board would probably be near the bottom of the list...)

3 years ago when i was interested in the first raiden, it usually went for 10-20 dollars and there seemed to be one every few days.  unfortunately, 20 was too rich for me.  i know raiden II can go as low as 30 but it usually takes in 40-50.  i've seen contra go for anywhere from 40-60 and super contra doesn't go as high though it is more rare.

does the side art and monitor bezel increase these auctions much at all?  it seems most of these games have the worst side art of just a random plane or gun.

this is the first or second time i've seen top gunner on ebay in a while although it only went for 10 bucks.  i was in the middle of a poker argument on being dealt 2 pair Queens vs Kings vs trip aces, so i missed it by 10 seconds.

i don't think i've ever seen jackal on ebay.  i recently saw gryzor for the first time which went for 35 with 0 or 1 bids.
