Ugh.
I was desperate to use Bloink on Anandtech Forums; Calvin and Hobbes Scientific Progress goes Boink...but I thought it was Bloink. To make matters worse someone has used Bloink in the past, so I threw and XP on it, because I was amused by all the products (at the time) changing their to Blank Blank XP...
Now I am stuck with it...

It rocks the room with the standard speaker. With an upgraded subwoofer it would probably tear open a hole into another dimension.

I hope one of you guys are able to save it before it gets water damaged. If the person who rescues it (assuming restoration is feasable and intended) needs any pics of what the insides are supposed to look like drop me a PM.

i picked it up last night, beautiful cab, very, very nice guy. slight lack of communication somewhere along the line. i was under the impression he was throwing this thing out and i was saving it, he was under the impression i was bringing him 75$ for it, which i wasnt. so i shook his hand, thanked him for his time and left, i wasnt in the market to buy a new cab, i just couldnt stomach any getting thrown out.

as i was getting in the car, he called out to me, and said "just take it, my wife will kill me if it doesnt get out of the garage" i was all like "are you sure? i dont want to guilt you into this?" and he was sure, so i did get it for free after all, what a very nice guy. made my night.

my main question about this cab is, what is the monitor? its a 19" wells gardner, there is no color overlay though like i was anticipating... it looks brand new in there though, i even found a quarter in the coin box, so i made money on the deal

Sounds to me like he tried to maneuver $75 from you after the free deal had been made. I've had that done to me several times. The person just wants to be rid of it, then decides it's worth money, so when you get there they want "a little something for it". They act all nice about it but it's premeditated most of the time.

I went to pick up a pin last year that a woman wanted me to take from them. She was very clear, she wanted it gone, no price, just come and take it. Hadn't worked in 12 years. When I got there her husband answered the door and told me it was worth hundreds of dollars (it wasn't) and he wanted to negotiate a price. After looking, I told him the original deal stood, I would haul it off for free. The husband and wife then got into a huge fight over it while I stood there, she won and he stormed out. Her 14 year old son helped me move it. Not quite the same as here, but stuff like this happens all the time.

Looks really great condition wise. The game boards and the back door (which they mount to) seem to be the only things missing. I'm fairly sure that the upright & the cocktail use the same boards, but you'll want to confirm that. Either way they should be pretty easy to find. I see SI stuff on ebay all the time.

FYI, this is what the back door assembly with the boards mounted to it looks like.

anyone have a spare door for one of these? i was just gonna use a piece of masonite but the color is different.

and is this b/w monitor? i think it is, but the lack of color overlay has me confused do you have any pics of yours in action?

If there isn't an on switch, wire one in. IMO, all cabs should have an on switch.

I think there's a switch on the bottom, but it's so difficult to get to that I just unplug mine when not in use.

The monitor is black and white. As far as I know the cocktails never had a color overlay. However, I bought one on ebay for mine that was made for an upright. It works fine on a cocktail.

Finding a back door could be tricky. It's got that "faux leather" grain on it. You could always make one to use temporarily until you find the correct one. It's not like it a complex part, and that side would normally go against the wall anyway. If you like, I'll take mine off and shoot you some detailed pics of the door.

I should add that it works fine except that the colors get reversed for player 2.

It's really not that big of a deal. One way around you get red on the top and green on the bottom, other way around you get green on the top & red on the bottom. I'm not even sure those are the correct colors, but you get the idea.

fyi, if your looking for a boardset try contacting elektronforge. they specialize in midway b/w games. he sells fully working boardsets w/ warranty for $150 they might have the door as well. you could probably buy one on ebay for less but buyer beware.

LOL. I didn't know anything about $75 either. It was on ebay at one time with a $9.95 minimum that nobody acted on.
