i just found this today, might be worth looking into.  have no idea who this guy is, just wanted to pass it on.

Bring cabinet to street level.  Stick "for sale" sign on it.  It won't last an hour before you get cash for the unit AND your security deposit.

sheer laziness, i would imagine.

point being, if he did indeed shell out $800 for it and it "just stopped working", there's probably a good amount of salvageable materials here.  i'm sure somebody here could make good use of it if it turns out to be in decent shape.

I would say the machine is in perfect shape if it's just some kid with too much money who is being forced by daddy to learn about hard choices.
