Wanted To Buy:Please Read
« on: September 05, 2005, 11:22:05 pm »
HI..I had to post in this forum, since I am a newbie and couldn't post in the buy, sell and trade forum. Anyway, I'm looking to purchase a custom Mame cabinet..NO roms, computer, monitor.I have had to go on a medical disability because of arthritis in my spine that I have had for the past 22 years. Its to the point now where its very hard to just walk around and try to function normally, so I am unable to take on a project like this now, for my kids and myself. I am looking for a quality product at a fair price. I could either get a classic control panel from slik stik to attach to this cabinet, or you could make that up also. I'm looking for (1)8-way joystick, (1)4-way joystick or a switchable 4way/8way, (1)3"trackball,(1)spinner and all necessary buttons to go along with all of this. I do want a lighted marquee and a pull out drawer for the keyboard. A coin door is optional at this point and I will NOT need any side art. If someone can take a gutted cabinet and turn it into this, that would also be fine, as would be someone who is willing to sell a Mame cabinet they already have that pretty much meets these needs. I will also pay for the shipping if I am not near driving distance of you. I live near Milwaukee Wisconsin. I'm sure there are many more questions to be answered,so PLEASE get a hold of me if you are interested in doing such a project for cash. I thank all of you for your time...
Dan

I am sorry that I am not in Wisconsin as I would GLADLY build you a cabinet or sell you one that I have already built (see avatar)

My wife will not currently allow an arcade cabinet in my house.  I'm now negotiating to keep a cabinet in the garage.  I built one in the past and had to take it to a friends house.

I have lots of extra parts and I have already built two control panels.  I really enjoy the building process but I dont know anyone personally that appreciates emulation.  Even my friend who has my cabinet in his room NEVER touches it.

I dont think I'm at a level yet to take cash tho.  A slikstik would be a sure bet, maybe a bit big tho.  If yer looking for a one player control panel you could fit some great stuff on there to play 95% of all games without being A HUGE CONTROL PANEL.

maybe look into DreamArcades or Spincade also; they're both guys who came from these forums and now make commercial cabinets for sale.

I'm right in his area, but without the time to do this.  I COULD possibly pick this up for him if it's in Illinois/Indiana/Iowa-ish....I dunno, it seems most folks from MN here are further up....at least a blown-day's drive into ViQueens country.

Don't let his area be the stumbling block.

Welcome, and btw, SuperAuctions is coming to State Fair on the 24th.  Mebbe head on over and see if there's anything you might like.  They usually hold it in the Cream Puff building.  If you show up and find something, I could give you a hand getting it home.  PM me if you're gonna be there and would like some help.

Don't negotiate anything for the garage.  When the girlie & I bought this house I told her I get the entire basement, one bedroom, and the garage.  No questions asked.  No discussion.

Then when I had to give stuff up (and we will always have to), I kept the closet in the bedroom, half the basement, and the garage.  That's all I really wanted anyhow.  It's like selling a car, always demand more than you'd be happy with.  That way everyone walks away happy. ;)

I live in central wis. and have built several mame cabinets for friends. mostly saving original cabinets from destruction from local vending companies. i have built control panels also. nothing that woudl make the hall of fame but solid and playable none the less. Let me know.

First of all, thanks to everyone who has replied :) I appreciate it! Epic69 and Timoe...do you have any pics of cabinets that you have built? I am very interested in getting something done here. DrewKaree, thanks for the information and your offer to help me, I still might take you up on that.
