Coin Return "button" in MAME?
« on: September 01, 2005, 11:10:52 am »
I'm about to wire my cab and I have a coin door that I would like to have hooked up properly.  I know how to wire up the "insert coin" buttons (I think) but is there something else I need to do to get the coin door to give the quarter back and in turn take the credit back?

Arcade games don't work that way. Vending machines do. Not arcade games. If you put a quarter in and get a credit, that's it, you've made your donation to the Game God whether you use it or not.

Arcade game coin returns are mechanical. If your quarter gets stuck and doesn't register a credit, you push the coin return button which mechanically, causes the mechanism inside to release the coin into the return chute.

NO MORE!!

That said, I had the idea of somehow wiring my 2 coin return buttons to be pause and reset.
