What mounting kit for high lip Imperial 3" t-ball?
« on: August 29, 2005, 06:56:06 pm »
I got 2 of the high lipped 3" Imperial/Betson trackballs but there doesn't seem to be a clear way to mount them?  Can I use the high lipped (Golden Tee version) mounting kit from Happs?  Does anyone here have one of those trackballs and successfully mounted it?

Any 3" mounting kit or plate should work, except happs high ball mounting kit.  Heck, it will "work" on even that one, but the plate's hole is half an inch bigger than needed.

I haven't tried that Golden Tee version (aka "heavy duty"), but it will work:  all 3" TBs (except happs high ball) meet the arcade standard.  However, you might need the 1/4" black spacer that should have come with your TB if you bought it new, if your lip sticks above the top of your control panel.  (Nylon spacer washers can be used instead if you don't have the spacer.)

Thanks for the reply.   :)

I do have the 1/4" spacers with the trackballs.  Do you happen to know of a source cheaper than Happs for the mounting kits or would the price difference be negligable anywhere else?

Can anyone post pictures of their trackball mounting (both top and bottom)??  I'm trying to mount a 3" Imp. in a wood panel.  I didn't receive any instructions...only the trackball and a faceplate.

Cheaper than $10 for a kit, or $7.75 for just a plate?  You probably can find the normal kit for cheaper than at happs, but unless you need the plate to be 6.5" instead of 7", the cheaper GT/PGA kit is better.  You can even make your own if you want: happs even has the sizes you can follow.

I would normally recommend BobRoberts also, but with the hurricane and all.... [shrug]
