WICO perfect 360 adaptor question
« on: August 29, 2005, 02:43:02 pm »
I picked up a couple of the "snap in" perfect 360 WICO adaptors the other day for an upcoming project. They came minus the "actuator" part that goes on the base of the stick.

Can anybody with a set of these let me know what that actuator is made of? Is it the same as leaf switch WICO actuators? Plastic? Even some pics would be nice if you've got em.

Thanks.

Here is a pic from searching. Two different actuators?

They're made from black plastic, and yes, there's two of 'em.  The big one is for 8-way, and the small one is for 4-way.

I know I measured the actuators for somebody else once (Quarterback?), but darned if I can find the measurements now, and my adapters are buried somewhere.  Maybe the info is still in the other member's PM box?

You got it backwards.  The big actuator is for 4-way mode and the small one is for 8-way mode.  They are the same size as the leafswitch actuators except they are made of black plastic.  The lasers on the P360 adapters work better with black plastic.

So the actuator sizes are the same, but swapped big for little from WICO leafswitch sticks? They look bigger in the pic I posted.

Sounds like I can paint a 4-way leafswitch actuator black, and have a solution for 8-way mode (what I'm trying to achieve). LMN if I'm wrong/backwards please.

Thanks for the input guys!

The black Perfect 360 actuators are actually a different size to the standard ones.

The diameters are as follows:

8-way   14mm
4-way   18mm

Exactly what I needed! Thanks.

Uh-oh.  Our numbers don't match.

Grasshopper:
14 mm = 0.56 inches = 14/25 inch
18 mm = 0.72 inches = 18/25 inch

Kremmit:
9/16 inch = 0.5625 inch = 14.2875 mm
3/4 inch = 0.75 inch = 19.049 mm

3rd party verification, anybody?  Preferably somebody with a nice set of calipers?
