I'm restoring a Joust and am ready to paint. I've found the paint codes at rgvac.com. The color I am questioning is 'Joust cream,' the code for which is Valspar 'Flourite' from Lowe's.
From pictures, this color appears to me to be more ivory. From the color codes and, sample chip, and custom mix at Lowe's, it appears more as a light yellow. I had the Lowe's paint counter double-check the color and mix and a yellowish tone is what Valspar 'Flourite' should look like.
Can anyone verify that the Valspar 'Flourite' is the correct code? Or that the orginal art should be more yellow than ivory?
For reference, Joust cream (Valspar 'Flourite' ) is the color of the lance, most of the head, tail feathers, feet, etc.) The other color codes (red and orange) appear accurate and match the photos I have. The background color on this cabinet is brown ('chocolate chip'). I know that a different color set is used for mount and rider for cabinets that use a black background.
Thanks for any info or insight.
