Industrial Cade?
« on: August 25, 2005, 09:22:34 pm »
Just wondering if anybody has done an industrial looking cabinet. This is my control panel, it's just contact paper so i know itll peel eventually, but im replacing this with a 4 player panel in the near future eventually anyway. The cab im doing just all black, and its half done, but now that i look at this, it might look good silver with black highlights.

If you're worried about peeling, you can always add a lexan or plexi overlay to the top.

Your panel looks nice!

Actually what I want to do on the side is this lion in silver, I just need somebody to draw it in clean lines for me, then I'll have my father print it to size on his massive photo printer, cut the peices out and spraypaint it onto the side. Actually if anybody here could help me with the clean line drawing that would be awesome.

For the industrial look, couldn't you get some sheets of aluminium and put those on your CP?

I've no  idea how much alu costs, but if it's not too  much, you could also put it on the cab sides and have the designed etched into it.

Dude Thats the rexair lion from the rainbow vac.
i know of it becouse I was born into the family. My younger brother is named after it. travis Rex
also known as T-Rex.
cool I have not seen that pic in almost 20 years.
I am not saying they own the pic. I just know the lion was on the box a Rainbow came in years ago. My Dad had me convinced for years that was our family crest  :D
That would be a cool CP.
check you local swap meet. I have one here a person could air brush it with no problem. I had a UK Wild cat done real cheap. $30.00

heh it's actually from the game Stronghold 2, but it's my family crest thats why i want it on my cab, except mine would have two tails, in "ermine" (spots) and an optional red tongue

The CP looks very nice!  Where did you get the aluminum contact paper.  Is there an online source?

I was looking around home depot and lowes for just matte black contact paper, and ended up finding that at Lowes.
