The guncon 2 requires custom built hardware to work on CRTs. And then it isn't nearly as accurate.

...I havent recieved my pre-ordered shipment yet....

I ordered 2 and still haven't received mine! They are definitely accurate, I have one of the older version (getting kind of old now through play) but they are really good light guns. Worth the money as the older one's were going for 100+ (used) on Ebay. They are plug and play... Definitely want to get one before they don't make them anymore...

Got mine today....2 pc versions...
I can NOT get both guns to work simutaneously in xp sp2.
I am hoping something will have an answer...and a tutorial ;-)
I have tried the cpnmouse drivers but no luck.

If ANYONE has gotten 2 pc version guns to work in xp, please shed some light.

I even tried analogmame. Maybe I am missing something. I though analog+ was able to let you run 2 guns. Is it just for the TV version?

I believe 2 tv versions of the gun work better than two of the pc monitor versions. Also correct me if I am wrong but I believe you need to use like analog MAME or something to that effect. No I am also waiting on my gun tv version and if I get it and I like it I will pre order another but my credit card hasn't even been hit yet so now I am starting to get mad at act-labs a bit. I am not going to get another without getting a chance to try it out! Any in U.S. get theres yet?

I ordered one but haven't received it yet.  I'm on the east coast in VA.  I believe these are shipping from British Columbia if I remember right.  I did see another post wher someone in Washington (state) received theirs, then a few days later someone in Michigan.  They're headed this way!  Maybe the mailman will bring mine today, but I think they were shipping UPS.  I don't think UPS works on Satrudays...

No UPS doesn't work weekends and this is a three day weekend. Still I haven't even seen any credit card action! So I feel my order hasn't even been processed yet let alone out for delivery. I am in N.J. Perhaps they have alot of orders I don't know not like they said how many guns they had to ship. If I don't see any activitie or get an e-mail by the end of next week I am going to give them a call. As it is we should have had are guns like 3 weeks ago.

I think recent versions of advance mame have superior support (rawinput) for using dual lightguns. They also look for either smogs driver (guncon) or actlabs. However, I do not know if they are looking for tv or pc versions or both.

While pc guns were not designed like the tv ones for dual support, dual pc ones have definately been seen and used working. Not sure what the requirements are.

NB you can use advancemame without all the clever graphics drivers if you want.

Who's actually 'seen' 2 pc guns working in xp?

edit - I got them to work.
xp sp2
2 pc act-lab light guns
MameAnalog+ ver. 0.83.2

I wonder why they (official MAME) don't incorporate analog+ into the core?

Crap thats expensive considering the old ones were selling for $34.99 NEW through act-labs when they originally were produced. Luky I bought one of the old models.

Any idea if SP2 is a required part of this mix? My cab is on SP1, and I'd rather not upset the apple cart unecessarily...

I would bet sp2 is not part of the mix. Just a guess...
Anyone see my other post that both my triggers broke after only one night??

That sucks.  But look on the bright side- maybe you can be the first guy to try & cram the Act-Labs guts into a Happ gun shell.

The problem probably is that the latest analog+ mame doesn't work with multiple mice.  You have to get .84 or something.

If you go to the analog+ website you will see that he released a few versions without the 'core' changes... the core changes involved the mulitple mice.

Correct Lilwolf...

The latest version that works is
MameAnalog+ ver. 0.83.2

One of the headaches I had was trying to use the latest version.

As far as my triggers... I called act-labs and they are sending me 2 new triggers from the factory in china(or wherever). They said it may take 2 weeks.
Just a word of advice. When playing with the guns, be sure to place your finger toward the TOP of the trigger and not towards the bottom. They'll snap. The hard part will be to make sure my alcoholic friend remembers that!

Another thing... while you have it open... fix the spring... I always thought they where too tough to pull back... not a big deal, but play a few games and your hands get tired.

I noticed that one gun had an easier trigger to pull back and the other was tougher. I obviously put the tougher trigger gun on the player 2 side...given me 'home advantage'.

I'll definitely loosen both springs while it's apart.

Well that's good to hear I thought something happend with my order. I was staring to think that with the few triggers that were breaking act-labs decided to stop shipping them. Well I guess I will just have to hope mine also gets taken care of next week.
