The pic isn't in an angle that helps at all for me. The description says Defender. Looks like a Williams coin door to me anyway.

Oddly enough, I actually like that silly horseshoe game. Not that I like it more than Defender, mind you.

Well, that auction has a few things that appeal to me.  It's a Defender cab with a very nice looking coin door.  It's local only.  It's 10 minutes from my house.

If it sells low enough, I may snag it for later restoration to a Defender.

Same seller:

Frogger, maybe?

No, that's a generic. You can tell by the coin door.

Isn't that a Midway coin door?

That's a Midway coin door isn't it? Isn't there a chance that someone just cut the hole to fit a coin door that they had onhand? Otherwise it lookslike a Frogger to me.

No, you're forgetting that Midway bought their coin doors from some other company (Coin Controls maybe?) and then attached their logo plate to it. If it doesn't have the logo plate (or two holes indicating it use to have a logo plate) then it's not a Midway coindoor. Besides Midway never used those style cabs, Sega/Gremlin and Centuri did.

A company in Ottawa used to make generics like those (based 95% on the Frogger cabinet design, but with some variations). I own one. And I've seen several others lurking about Ebay.

Compare to the Frogger coin door here:
http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=7857

Also compare the cabinet shape at the sides of the marquee, to this:
http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=10293

But again, different style coin door on those Centuri cabs.

Ah, so if I go for one, it will be the Defender.  Cool.
