If you want to get your Xbox Joystick working on your PC, it's very easy. Just solder/twist 4 wires.  
 
  
 
Just connect/twist the Xbox output cable to the same wire colours (ignore the yellow one) of a normal pc usb cable.  
 
 
If you don't wanna solder just twist the wires and cover them in electrical/scoth tape!

Then use the following drivers (XID v0.0.1.0) when asked (in Windows, of course).

Then if you want to use in other consoles just get a USB-->consoles (psx,ps2,gc,dreamcast,sega saturn,...) adapter/converter!  
 
  
 
I don't know if it will work on other consoles as this requires special drivers to work on the PC.  
 
  
 
Maybe it works with a Xbox-->other consoles adapter. I don't know.  
 
 
You can have two outputs too: One with a Xbox connector and the other with the USB connector, so you can connect it to the Xbox and to the PC.
