FS: Mr. DO and extras - Chicago area
« on: August 22, 2005, 11:52:13 am »
hi there folks, i live in southeastern WI, so this would be eligible for the chicago area. I have a cabinet that i'm looking to sell. My mom played it for about a year and a half. Its a modified Wizard of Wor cabinet, with working Mr. Do equipment inside, and also a Donkey Kong Jr Monitor Bezel. The arcade monitor recently stopped working correctly, all we can see is red, and lines. I'm not sure if its an easy fix or not, but if you know more about monitors than i do (trust me you do) it maybe a great find. anyway, the game worked great until the monitor did this a few weeks ago. I also have a spare monitor that i got out of a cabinet i turned into a mame cabinet, it has some burn in, but it appears to be the same size as the one in the mr. do, so you have twice the opportunity to get a working monitor in there. i also have working pcb parts and monitor bezel, and marquee to the game "Ring King"

So, to summarize, here is the list of items i am looking to liquidate

Wizard Of Wor Cabinet with Working Mr. Do innards
2 Monitors - 1 working with bit of burn in \ 1 on the fritz, red and lines, unsure if fixable
Working "Ring King" PCB
Original "Ring King" Marquee and Paper bezel surround
Donkey Kong Bezel

I know roughly what i want for this lot, but i'd like to get some offers and see what people think its worth. you can reply here, email me at shodough@gmail.com or aim me at shodough66. Thanks in advance.

Can you post a pic of the marquee?

The cabinet might get more interest if you posted a picture and price.

I'm too far away for the cab, though.

I will get pcis of everything up as soon as i can, i need to find the lost digital camera first tho. I am looking to sell everything as a lot, so 1 person can come and pick up the entire lot, but for the right price, i suppose i can let some of the other stuff go seperately. I would like if you are interested in something, to give me an offer.

Taito or Universal Mr. Do!?
I'm tempted, don't have the money right now though.

Can someone here who is "in the know" please help shodough put a price on a few of these things.

How much is some of this worth?  I think it may help him in deciding how much he could let it go for.

i'll be honest with you, theres almost no way i would swap the monitors myself, theres too much technical work, and things i dont understand, that i wont want to get into it at all.

The RingKing stuff is pretty low value.  No more than $5-$10 combined for the board and marquee and bezel. (2 boards have not sold on eBay at $1 and $5, and one sold for 15 cents recently)

Shodough,

I guess my offer of $13.85 for the bezel alone wasnt really that lowball of an offer!
