Pep Boys auto parts sells various ones and I would think Home Depot, Lowe's, or Ace Hardware or the like would also.

The bigger problem is finding out what size E-clip you need so you know the new one will work ;-(

I had one fly up and hit me in the eye about a month ago when I changed from bats to balls >:( Got a few spares at Sears Paint & Hardware store. I've seen them at True Value hardware stores too.

Happ does call it a 7mm clip for some reason, but that is a pretty strange way to describe it.  Retaining rings, e-clip style or otherwise, are typically classified by the shaft diameter they are designed for.

Since the Comp & Super have 10mm shafts, you would expect that they need 10mm e-clips.  However, I just measured a Happ "7mm" e-clip with my calipers, and it conforms exactly to an 8mm e-clip as shown on this chart:  http://www.oscarcontrols.com/tmp/eclip-metric.pdf.  It appears that IL overcuts the groove for the 10mm shaft as if it were an 8mm shaft, and the groove diameter for an 8mm clip is 7mm.  That is most likely where the Happ "7mm" clip identification comes from.

All that said, your best bet would be to take the shaft with you to the hardware store....

Is that one of the ball handles available on Ebay from n2new@aol.com? If so, can you let me know what your experiences have been.

Thanks in advance

Yup, got em from n2new and I'm very happy with them. I have Happ competitions mounted under 5/8" plywood with 1/8" lexan on top and the height of these shafts are arcade perfect. I'll be buying more soon for my vertical monitor cabinet now under construction. They're worth the money as they don't have any mold or casting rings around the balls. I'll admit they aren't cheap but I don't think the guy is making as much money as you would think. He's probably a small outfit similar to Oscar and Andy and isn't into pumping out mass produced cheaply made crap just to keep the price down :P. I'd rather buy from the small guys anyways as they seem to pay more attention to detail.
