video slots machine?
« on: August 20, 2005, 12:13:51 am »
how practical is it to make an emulated video slots machine?

i have to do a senior project and we have to do a major "project" for it.

my topic is "practical computer use in modern society" or somehting like that.  my mame cab is really close to done and we need step by step pics.
doesnt have to be too complicated, but how practical is this really? is it possible to keep it under 200 and still have a nice, funtional piece?

thanks in advance,
mc

You just built a MAME cabinet. I think you know what it cost you... ???

How could you handle coin pay-outs in a video slot machine?
NO MORE!!

happs has alot of stuff or i can probably get a deal on a trashed slots machine for parts.   The computer running it and moniter will be close to nothing from goodwill, and i have a win2k license sitting around.  i can grab a ten dollar piece of partical board from lowes, and i still have paint, primer, brushes etc.

so the biggest concern i have is really "are there video slots roms and emulators that can handle the payout really.  Ive never seen anyone do this so i just thought it would be an interesting project, if its possible at all.
