In need of an Opto-Pac
« on: August 17, 2005, 09:15:39 pm »
I am in need of an Opti-Pac, but Ultimarc is out of stock andf there are not any on ebay. Does anyone have one they can part with or have a suggestion as to something I can use in its place? I have a Konomi GT Racing cabinet and want to hook up the steering wheel.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Actually, I do have one I am willing to part with. I decided mid-construction of my CP not to put in a spinner.  So it's been sitting here for the last 6 months...

PM me if you still are in need of it...

Opti-Pac, not Opto-Pac.

As far as alternatives -

See http://www.mameworld.net/tigerheli/encoder/main.htm#Optical_Interfaces (under Controller Options and also http://www.mameworld.net/tigerheli/encoder/main.htm#THE_PLAYERS (under Optical Interfaces and check the notes).

a suggestion as to something I can use in its place?

Hack a mouse. It's very easy and there are several good tutorials online.
