Need source for "mini" cocktail joysticks
« on: August 15, 2005, 12:03:53 pm »
I saw some mini-cocktail joysticks advertised on eBay and I am trying to find another source for them. I'm restoring a Frogger cocktail machine and these look almost identical. Does anyone know who manufactures these sticks, or have a source for them?

Thanks,
Todd

I don't know, but the stick itself looks similar to a Space Invaders cocktail stick.  I've never seen one behind the panel so I can't be sure tho...

I have two of those. I was told they were Nintendo joysticks, but that might be wrong.

They sure look like the sticks in my VS Super Mario Bros, except for the extra mounting bracket and all of the holes.

Cheers.

Do all the Nintendo VS sticks have short staffs? I haven't taken my Frogger cocktail control panel apart, but I know the stick is very short and the ball top is small. It is nice though since it fits under the glass top.

Thanks,
Todd

Those are similar to the original Nintendo sticks, almost like they copied the design.  But they aren't the same.  Video Connection (same guy that has the NOS LS-30 sticks) is selling them on ebay.  NoOne=NBA bought some, but I don't know if he's had a chance to try them out yet.

I haven't tried them mounted yet, but they seem to work fairly well.
I don't have an original Nintendo to compare them to, though.
From how big I "remember" the Nintendo sticks, I think these are even smaller.

EBAY. Are you interested?
THey have a green plastic ring inside, just like in the photo you showed. Old Nintendo joysticks don't have that green plastic. (or do they?)

I contacted the dude on eBay and I think he is going to sell me a couple at a good price. I'll go that route and see how it turns out. I'll post my results and source here if the sticks and transaction work smoothly.

Thanks,
Todd

My converted Crazy Climber / Mr. Do cocktail had some on it when I originally got it.  Not sure if they were orginal though.
