New games from the Super Auction
« on: August 15, 2005, 12:07:32 am »
I picked up a couple of good ones this weekend.  A 25" Aero Fighters and a 25" Neo Geo in a converted Dynamo cab.  The Neo Geo will very likey get re-converted into Tekken 2 when I have time.  (pics later)

Really? I have a 25" Aero Fighters you could have bought! (Granted, the monitor is toast.)

How much did you get the Aero Fighters for? I'm curious what mine will be worth when I get it working.

Then you would really die at some of the other prices.  Like the fully working Cyber Sled (2x  25" monitors, no burn) for $75!!

Or the N/W OffRoad for $1, and a bunch of others......  I wish I had a bigger truck that night.

Well on the up-side, it sounds good that I didn't take my machines.

I'm assuming the low prices are partially attributed to the fact that it's the first post-summer Dallas auction. Operators don't like changing up their inventory during the summer. It's their biggest money-making time of the year because kids are out of school, and switching out games takes them out of operation. (No operation = no money)

That means they wait for the kids to go back to school, and then they dump their crappier machines. They won't be too interested in picking up more machines until not long before summer starts again. So at the auctions you have lots of people getting rid of stuff, and not too many wanting to buy. That means lower price levels on machines.

I'm gonna wait for the last auction of the year before I dump my stuff. Hopefully the post-summer dump will have dwindled off, and if I'm lucky I'll find some Christmas shoppers.

Dude, I have buttloads of cabs. I have more cabs than I need. If I ever make a roadtrip back home for a weekend, maybe you could swing by McAllen and pick one up (if/when it ever happens).

Not a bad idea.  I don't know if i could afford one, but mabie if i sell that battery powered scooter and one of my spare ps2's, nah, doubt it.  But yeah, keep me informed and stuff.  Actually, i am gonna try to craft a candy-style cab out of some cheepo tv stand, but  it won't be anyware near profesional, so ill hold you up to that bud.

I got there later in the evening, long after that stuff had sold.
