WTB Any cheap Socket 478 CPU (US:VA)
« on: August 12, 2005, 02:28:06 pm »
Hi there.

I figure someone around here has to have a spare socket 478 CPU lying around. :)  Perhaps an old Celeron 1.7??

I'm not looking for anything too fast, since I don't want to spend much.  The setup this CPU would be going into is not "mission critical" or anything, just an idea I'm playing around with.

Thanks!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813138244

$94.50 shipped, is not too bad.

Newegg was, of course, the first place I checked.  I don't even need anything that nice.  I wanted to stay well below that in price as well.  I've seen some old Celerons on ebay for 20-30 bucks, but I thought I'd check everyone here first.

I may have a P4 laying around.  533FSB probably around 2.4Ghz.

Make me an offer.  I'm in NOVA so you may be able to save shipping.  Friggin' Heat sinks are heavy.
