You can always order from twobits.com and spend 2X as much for a REPRO!  ::)  :P

I just bought a real Pac marquee on ebay actually.  Almost $40 after shipping.  2 more are ending on Sunday night I believe, it might be a good opportunity for you, since they are ending so close together, one might not get high bids.  Or maybe not, I dunno.  I'm also looking for a Pac bezel and CPOverlay.  Haven't found any leads locally.  I guess I'm in no massive hurry, my machine will function without them and I already have a plain bezel.

If by chance you get leads on multiple bezels or CPO's, let me know...

I have the artwork files, that i downloaded off the net.

And i have the dimensions.  I have actually thought about going to KINKO'S

and see if they will print the CP artwork and Bezel ?

I may come out cheaper than Ebay or Twobits ?

But they might not print it, Because they are afraid of copyright infringment.

I have heard of some stuff they refuse to print.

Well.  How would you print them out exactly?  The original CPO is on some kind of hard plastic, and the bezel is on glass, obviously.  You could probably adhere a printout to the back of clear glass somewhat easily, but as far as the CPO, you'd need to put something over it.  I don't really know how people do that.  I hate to buy anything at twobits just cause I find the prices to be sickening, but for the CPO, I may just spend the $60, because I don't see a better option.  The bezel for $140?  I think I'd rather paint it by hand...

Just to warn you about Kinkos: some things they do well, some they don't.  I had a laminated paper cocktail underlay done that was top notch, excellent. However they didn't do so great on vinyl.  YMMV

Thanks for the tip!

So they printed your Cocktail underlay?

What kind of paperstock did you have it printed on?

And how much did they charge you?

Thanks!

I'd like to know how people cut out the plexi to go over it.  With tools I don't have I guess, as usual.  Another reason I may buy the damn $60 repro for this 1 piece, cause it saves me having to buy $200 in tools.

Lowes or Home depot sells Plexi.

Home depot seems to have more of a variety.  (THICKNESS)

If you have the measurements. They can cut it for you there.

For button holes, I use a dremel tool.

Hope that helped?

Home Depot isn't answering their phone, nice.  I'm sure they can cut the big rectanglar piece, yes.  The rest you have to do on your own.  Don't forget the joystick hole in addition to the buttons.  And with the top plexi, there isn't any room for error.  And when you're done, it still doesn't really look the same as the original CPO, cause it's inside a shiny, smooth, rectangular plexi covering.  Though it may be slightly more durable.

I'm sure this IS the way to go for do-it-yourself artwork (one of the main points of the forum.)  But in my case, trying to make my machine look like the original Pac, I think the repro CPO not only looks more authentic, but for $49 (thought it was $60!) it probably ends up being a better deal in terms of money+time.

Of course, I did want to add a trackball.  ;D  I suppose very careful work with an exacto-knife could cut out the appropriate section of CPO...

Get yourself a DREMEL TOOL while you are at HOME DEPOT.

The kind with the rechargable battery is under $40.00 i believe.

You won't have any problem making button holes or JOYSTICK/TRACKBALL holes.

It will pay for itself, in the long run.

Mount the plexi to the CP then bore out the holes, Use the metal CP as your guide.

Then unmount the plexi, And clean everything up. then remount.

Home depot can cut your BEZEL plexi.

You just need the measurements.

Try these.

I don't know if a dremel (or router) would pay off for me since I have no earthly idea what else I'd use them for.  I plan to print out the bezel anyway.  One thing I wondered about that is, how to adhere the artwork to the back of the clear glass bezel securely, so it is secure at all points yet doesn't have visible paste marks or anything.  Some kind of really clear paste I guess.

Hehehe, is that your cab?  You have some serious Pac burn-in there! (but I think it adds character.)  And you need to CLEAN that puppy!!  WHEW!!   ;D  Fully cleaning my cab took a couple days, but I'm sure glad I did it.  (Well I still have mildew-smell issues...)  You can get that old orange T-molding looking nice again with just a rag, soapy water and a little elbow grease.

Anyway.  It's a good idea to give it back-support.  I didn't think of that.  Maybe a lumbar pillow (groan...)  But yeah, that will work great if done properly.  Printing it on thick material should work.  I should call Kinkos and see how much it would cost (though I REALLY hate the local Kinkos, bunch of utter screwups that treat the customers poorly... not to mention the outrageous rates they change for computer use...)  This site looks like they sell all the right stuff, but they are temporarily down, sadly:

Not my Cabinet.

Mine is totally gutted.  No mildew in mine.

Acutally mine looks brand new on the inside.

I got the picture from the net somewhere.

I just kept it for reference.  When i go to put mine back together.

Let me know how kinko's turns out?

I might be going there myself!

Just called the local Kinkos.  They charge $10 a square foot, so it looks like a bezel printout would be on the order of $40, CPO would be around $20 or perhaps less?  They said they could print on thicker stuff (card stock), however they cannot print a 23"x21" on anything other than standard paper, which could then be mounted to something sturdier.  whammoed said earlier that they did well with his laminated one, so laminating may be an option, although hopefully the laminate wouldn't be too visible.  I didn't ask them about copyright stuff, I heard on here that sometimes they freak out and won't print out anything that looks like it is copyrighted.  If you try them, let me know.

I just found a place online that has original Pac-Man CPO's for $35 shipped.  Interested, or are you still gonna print out your own?

Actually, it's Arcade Renovations.  It pays to ask!  Because it was not listed on their site.  I just took a chance and asked in email, and amazingly they had them.  He says that "they are original and mint, $35 shipped."  I never dealt with them before but I think people say good things about them. Just email sales@arcaderenovations.com.  WOO.  Now, I just need the bezel (they don't have that.)  Let me know if you do the Kinkos thing before I do.  TTYL.

!!!  Careful before you print out the bezel.  One going around the net just isn't the same as the original.  Good thing I didn't spend $40 on that...
