Differences Between Astro City and New Astro City

Hello,
I'm interested in buying an arcade system, and I'm wondering what exactly is the difference between the "Astro City" and the New Astro city.

I heard the picture and sound quality were vastly different, is this true?
Or is the only difference that the speakers are protruding?
