FS: Shipping Supplies, Boxes
« on: August 05, 2005, 12:30:41 am »
My friends dad works in the postal service, and he saw that iv been selling alot of stuff lately so he told me he could get me postal boxes, and I told him coll, get me 100 of everything if you can, so he did, and i just about fainted when he came in his truck packed with tons of boxes, i dont need this much, i need to get rid of about 60% of them lol, so i will sell them all cheap, just pay shipping and maybe a couple bucks in it for me.

I have pretty much every size box available and i also have those Flat Rate boxes too.  oh and these are all priority boxes...i think.

just pm me about any questions or anything

I hate to bust your bubble, but I feel like I must inform you that the US post office supplies these boxes free to anyone shipping through them. In fact, they can even be ordered through usps.com and delivered straight to your door for free. The only catch is that yuou have to use the box appropriate to the shipping method. They even supply packing tape and stuff, though.

Keep them for the winter, save on heating oil and gas with free post office boxes

owned.  Build a fort out of them or something... or use them to make cardboard mockups of control panels... you probably have enough for an entire cardboard arcade.

If you open 'em up and paste 'em together you can build a full cardboard furniture set.

I think he meant a full arcade. I'm serious. Burn them for heat this winter.

I'm betting that NO, its not safe.  Any dye or inks that are found within the box will become the air you breathe.

Not a good idea.

Build a Cardboard Canoe, and they are safe to burn as long as you keep the flue open. I burn them all the time and I'm not that messed up

And cardboard canoes are fun. As long as you use at least iron on laminate all over the place, they will not become instant mush

Make a stencil of a space invaders alien, spray paint it on to one box per day for the next 13 1/2 years and place them in weird places around your town.

The boxes actually say on them that they are the property of the U.S. Postal Service.
I'd just take them to the local post office and drop them off in the lobby.
My post office even has a dock around back?

Exactly.  There's no reason for you to keep all these in your home.

My favorite POffices have them in stacks or slots out in the lobby area.  The most annoying ones make you wait in line to get them.  I'm sure they'd take them unless they were all wet or torn up or something.

I would just walk in and set them down by the back, out of the way. You could even write "Free to good home" on them.  ;D

For the truly nerdy...

Build a life-sized Pac-Man maze using big boxes for walls and little boxes for dots. Then get 4 friends to wear ghost boxes on their heads as they hunt you down. To make it more interesting for them they get to tackle you if they catch you!

I always told myself that if I ever got super rich, I would make one of those hedge mazes that was an exact replica of the PacMan maze.  That would rule.
