Have you pulled it apart and cleaned it?

Squeaking is usually either plastic dust in the shaft, or the button is tweaked (tightened too tight, not square in the hole, etc...) and is slightly out of round.

If neither of those fix it, I would use silicone spray (lightly) inside the shaft.
I've had really good luck using that on plastic stuff.

You know, I never even thought of that (DOH!)   I have some silicone spray I bought for my Wico grommets but never used it on my buttons.

I've got some old leaf buttons that are all kinda scraped up on the sides, so when I play, sometimes they squeak or even stick.  I've washed them all, but had to 'retire' some of them because they didn't work as smoothly as the others.

But maybe silicone spray will do the trick.
Thanks

You can also wet-sand them with some extra-fine sandpaper, to smooth them back out.
The area you're sanding doesn't show, so function is the primary concern.

I just had to disassemble a whole set of Sanwas on my Pony cab because they had years of hand gunk on the sides of the buttons.
A little soap on some ScotchBrite, and they work as good as new.
