That control panel is from an Ikari Warriors machine. The right hand joystick is an "SNK LS-30" which was actually made by Seimitsu and used in several SNK games. The left hand joystick is made by Wico but should be labeled "DE" on the top of the knob which stands for Data East. Both SNK and Data East labeled these sticks as their own leading people to believe that they were the makers of these sticks but actually,SNK and Data East are/were game/software designing companies and not manufacturers of arcade game controls/hardware. Both of these sticks still seem to be referred to as SNK and Data East sticks but are actually Seimitsu and Wico sticks. A bit confusing but none the less factual.

Thanks for the quick response.  Do you know if there is some way to interface these rotary sticks with MAME.  Does the rotary component work like a standard mouse axis?

What I dont understand is that if both sticks do exactly the same thing Why would SNK not simply have two identical sticks in the CP.  Do you think this specific CP has some aftermarket repair?

You need to remember that after it's sold, the company producing it has no say over what happens to it.

Definitely.
At lease ONE of the two joysticks has been replaced.
It's possible that BOTH joysticks have been replaced at some point.
