I busted the optic board on my spinner over the weekend...was measuring it for a new cp design and dropped it right on the circuit board, which bent actually didn't snap completely, but bent enough to render the PCB useless.

Resurrecting one of my older posts here...regarding my post above, I tried soldering each or the 4 broken traces back together using some thin-gauge solder...the spinner still isn't working.  I need to check my contacts with a multimeter, but I haven't used one before.   It's possible I may have bridged an extra contact inadvertantly, but my joints are extremely small already, I can't even tell for sure if I hit the traces right.  I don't want to painstakingly re-solder everything if I can avoid it, and am looking for a quick "it's good" or "it ain't" using the multimeter to test each one.  Can someone give me an idea of what values I'm looking for for each contact, or how you would go about troubleshooting from this point?

Set your multimeter to the Olm setting looks like the greek letter omega. This will test conductance in the wire. If the wire is intact the meter will move. If not, no movement. If you think you crossed traces, put one end on the one you think is crossed. Again, if the meter moves, it is crossed. Hope this helps....

If it is trashed, you can try the build your own optics, from the ultimarc website. I made a few and they work great. If you can not find the parts I may have an extra lying around. LMK if I can help further.

A couple of other things to add:

1. I think all of Oscar's spinners use the same optic board.

2. Radio Shack sells very fine wire for "mending" traces. It may not be possible to bridge the broken traces with solder. Sometimes solder can spread out too much if you try to use it that way.

3. I wish I'd bought a couple of extra optic boards from Oscar before he shut down
