I Pac question

I built a two player cab last year and I used the Ultimarc 2 player I-pac.  I am now in the process of converting this into a four player cab.  Does anyone now if it will cause any problems If I just buy a seconf 2 player I-Pac and hook it up to players 3 and 4?

I don't see why it would be a problem. You'd just have to reprogram the second one. When in doubt, though, ask Andy Warne.

Otherwise, if you sell the IPAC2 you have now, you'll be more than halfway closer to buying that IPAC4. You might actually save money by selling the one you've got and just getting the IPAC 4.

IIRC, you can have two iPACs installed on the same machine, BUT you can't program them on that machine -- you would have to program the second iPac2 using another computer, then install it.

I would keep things simple -- grab an iPac4 and stick to the single encoder.

As others have said, you just have to re-program the second I-PAC so they don't conflict.  (You don't need a separate computer, just unplug the one that you DON'T want to re-program.  And either one of them needs to use USB or you need to use the pass-thru on the I-PAC and daisy-chain them.

Alternately, you could use a GP-Wiz32 from www.groovygamegear.com for Players 3 and 4, but you would have to re-configure MAME.

As others have said, you just have to re-program the second I-PAC so they don't conflict.

I vote for the IPac4. That way you only have to worry about configuring and troubleshooting one piece of hardware.
