fl0yds Rotary Adapter plug question
« on: July 13, 2005, 02:16:44 pm »
http://www.markoates.com/rotary/TechSupport.htm

I am a bit confused.  I finished my soldering on the switch, now I need to connect my wires to the plug.  When I look on Mark Oates' website instructions i see the first table with the following info

Table 1
13-pin Connector Rotary Switch

Pin 1                    Pin 1

Pin 2                    Pin 2

Pin 3                    Pin 3

and so on until ....

Pin 12          Pin 12

Pin 13          Pin A

Then a little farther down I see this table
13-pin Connector    Rotary Switch    Druin's PCB

Pin 1      Pin A        Pin 1

Pin 2      Pin 1       Pin 2

Pin 13      Pin 12       Pin 13

So does the cable from pin "A"  on the switch go to pin (1) on the connector or (13) ???

Also is there a "top" or "bottom" on these connectors (they're not in front of me now).  Does it matter what side the pin one goes into?

Thank you

That's a good catch.  I'd updated the one table, but failed to update the other.

Pin A on the switch goes to pin 13 on the connector, and pin 13 on druin's.

(I'll double check this when I get home.)

Pin A on the switch needs to connect to Pin 13 on Druin's and on the 13 pin connector.

I've updated the site.

Thank you for pointing that out.  :)
