FYI...

I received  a letter from them stating increased costs, and high workman's comp insurance has caused them to close up.

They had a cool web site.

It's one thing to offer things above retail. It's another thing to be charging 100% or 200% above retail.

... and then it's just stupid to be charging 500% or more over retail. Who's going to pay $250 for a pair of stools? You can only dupe so many people.

You mean a track ball for $299 and a top fire joystick for $50 isn't a good deal  ???

LOL good points, but I've seen other sites charging $5999 for the big ones also.

The web site was great though, you could use it to see what various colors of trim etc. worked best.  ;D

Yeah it's one thing to charge extra for hard-to-source parts. It's another thing to charge waaaaaaay to much for off-the-shelf stuff.

Anybody want to buy my Playstation 2? It's only $400.

I, personally, liked the Saitek p3000 gamepad ($30) selling for $250. Would "good riddance" be in poor taste?

I don't think I could consciously do that to people. I would feel too guilty knowing I'm taking advantage of people. I'm glad they're out of business. I hope they didn't break the bank, but I do hope they ended up in the red for it. Maybe it'll teach them a lesson.

Did they sell the business?  The website says that they are located in Reno, NV.  If I am not mistaken they used to be in the LA area.

yeah and those sites don't sell many (any?) at $6k either.  I'm surprised they lasted this long.  And 5 mins with Photoshop and a generic cabinet picture can do the same color tricks too.

You know what their problem was? They weren't buying in bulk from wholesalers. They were buying from normal sources like you and I and then needed to make a profit... LAME!

Oh well, survival of the fittest!

I didn't look at the stools in question, but if you go into any reputable billiards store you will find all kinds of stools that cost $100+. :)
