black screws

Does anyone know where I can find black 3/4" wood screws to attach lexan to a wood control panel?  I've tried Home Depot and Radio Shack but neither store carries such a product.

you really dont need bolts if you only gonna attatch the lexan.you could paint screws black then use finishing washer to add some looks to it.if you wanna use bolts for your joystick too then bob roberts have those cool black onces.
usually..ace hardware has "EXACTLY" what you are looking for except the onces they are all silver.could always spray paint .

two thoughts;

(1) use regular screws and buy a package of black screw covers.  You can get them at Home Depot and the like.  They are just those little round black plastic circle things that snap into the screw head.   You see these all the time on arcade cabinets, furnature, etc...

(2) You can buy drywall screws which are black.  Drywall screws are fairly close to wood screws so they can be used the same way.

I am using option 1 myself.

Try an auto parts store (Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Discount)  Look for Trim Fasteners in the HELP! (brand name) aisle.  They come in black or chrome and include the trim washer which you want anyway to keep from cracking the Lexan.  Technically, these are sheet metal screws, but they're not much different from wood screws and should be great for what you are describing.

Don't the 12+ buttons hold down the lexan enough for most people?  Or are your panels so big that the edge still flops  around?  (I have a small CP)  
 
I'd think that scratching your hand on one of the screw heads (or finishing washers) would be more likely than catching the edge of the lexan and lifting it up.

My dad has stacks of these at home, you should be able to get them at any place that sells carpentry supplies.
