I would also try posting in the Laser Disc Game Classifieds forum over at the Dragon's Lair Project.

  • Awesome face!
I suggest forgetting about it. Do you REALLY want to pay $1000+ for a game that you will play maybe 50 times in the next 5 years?

Way to crap on his parade.

I saw one on RGVAM, working, for $200 last week.  I think it was in FL.

Wait, the one I saw was Holosseum... nearly the same game, same technology.

As a slightly interesting idea.

couldnt we use the same idea to make a '3d' emulation machine?

IE, project (in whatever form they used) pacman onto the 3d plate (whatever it is).  Its seems that any games with a black background should look at least decent.

might be really cool for tempest and starwars

Maybe someone could just modify an existing (hopefully busted) hologram game.

It could be attempted, but given that the reason those are usually parted out is because the mirror broke, it would be hard.  Plus there are very few of those left.

I really want a Holographic Time Traveler too, but shipping is a beast for this game and if it arrives with a broken mirror, then you are out $$.

I am hoping a local place will sell one soon. I'd pay $1000 for a working version of this game.

I'm not sure that mirror CAN be replaced without some VERY expensive custom work, if you even have the exact specs.

Maybe I need to contact my froend that works for NASA and see if he could figure out some inexpensive way to reproduce the mirrors. He used to make parabolic mirrors for the Mars Rover project.

What was the fighting game version of that 'cabinet'?

Where I used to work we bought one of those.
That was years ago but my boss may still have it.

I would really like getting the dimensions of the miror inside the cab. I may have some alternatives lined up that are pretty cheap if I can get the correct size of the current mirror.

As for the fighting game, that used the cab, you can play it currently in MAME. It's a 2d fighter that is somewhat holographic. ChadTower mentioned the game. I bet if you get that cab and then you can swap out the laser disk. You'd  have time traveler.

I saw a similar mirror in a novelty store in burlington vermont,i think it was the discovery store there. It was a simple mirror ,bowl shaped and if you sat like a coin or something small in it apeared to be bigger and 3D.A stange trick on the eyes.thats why i want one of these machines, very one of a kind.i think they could have done much more with this machine. The game time traveler and holloseum were so so games but the technology was a head of its time, no speacial glasses needed. That why i want one so bad. I WOULD PAY UP TO 3000.00 FOR A WORKING ONE IN GOOD SHAPE MAYBE MORE.

Would you like me to put him in touch with you?  I'll see if he wants to discuss it and then I can PM you his number.

BTW he said the 'mirror' is actually plastic and not glass at all.

Plastic... I wonder if that is standard, if it's plastic then you have a whole new set of things to think about.
