What are some fun 2player co-op games to put in your cab?
« on: June 29, 2005, 08:14:37 am »
What are some fun 2player co-op games to put in your cab?  What games do you and your friend just get a kick out of playing?  I'm talking more about adventure type games and not so much fighting or puzzle type games.  Of course i have TMNT, Simpsons, contra, bubble bobble and others like that.  I really enjoy the 2 player co-op in Salamander 2 and Lifeforce.  Anyone else have any personal favorites?

How could you leave the Metal Slug games off your list?

And of course top shooters like 1942, etc.

Bubble Bobble is probably the best, so you have that covered...

Twin Eagle (don't set it to easy though. it's a short game)
UN Squadron
Ikari Warriors
Final Fight
NO MORE!!

Wife and I have been playing the heck out of:

Joust
Mario Bros. (not Super Mario Bros.)
Double Dragon

Good co-op play on those, but always with the option of kicking the other player's azz when you feel like it.

Punisher
Bad Dudes
Raiden ...is a must
Sunset Riders (up to 4 players)
i've always been a fan of Rampage...'cept i can't find a site that has the newer one that works...there are SO many to list... you can get Mario 3 on playchoice10... i set all my games to the hardest level cause when you're not putting in quarters it changes it makes it too easy to continue...

In the "non-fighters" category (since I dont get into those at all):

1) Bubble Bobble... hands down the best.   It's cooperative only. You really can't hurt the other player
... also...  Any BB clone like SnowBrothers or similar.  100 levels and even with 2 players and unlimited quarters on the REAL arcade board, it's very hard to get past level 75 or so, at least we never have.

2) Mario Brothers (not Super)...  The best before bubble bobble came out.  It's a great game that can be played either cooperatively (though it's easy to make mistakes and hurt the other player) or as a rather venimous against each other game..... hint... get rid of the POW before leaving the bottom row!

3) Joust (or Balloon Fight on PlayChoice-10...basically the same idea).

If you like fighters, then go with Simpson's.  It can do up to 4 players, is basically identical to Double Dragon, but much more cartoony/a lil bit less "real violence" for the youngsters.

As mentioned, silkworm.  Great 2 player game, one person is the heli, one is the jeep.

I like cabal and blood bros.  Also any vertical shooter.

Someone probably already mentioned the D&D games.. almost fighting games, but just cool enough not to suck.

Buster Bros is one of my all-time favs... but I find that I'm the only one who is good at it or has patience for it, so it doesn't get much multi-player use around here :-(

That goofy gangster shootout game (dead angle, maybe?) is fun for a quick party play.

Pong is vs.  He wants co-op.

Try every single shooter made by Psikyo.  They're all co-op, and all pretty good for a laugh.

You can play co-op Pong.  Gets a tad dull, though.

Stobe hit the nail on the head, my absolute favorites are the 19xx series of games; ie, 1942, 1945, etc.

They are a blast!

In what way does Pong qualify as being fun?  Honestly.

blasteroids, you can dock the ships

always enjoyed the home version of this, but never played it in an arcade.
