Best Sports Games?

For MAME.

I did a search but couldn't seem to find a dedicated thread.  Ok, so I didn't spend hours...  if you know of a thread just post it and i'll go away!

I'd hate to ask a question that's been asked before!  :P

thanks

Isn't Punch-Out!! a little annoying to play because of the dual screen thing?

not really, i mean the dual screen thing was cool, but having it on one doesnt screw up the gameplay any....just makes the screen a little smaller.

I always liked Hit the Ice too.

Baseball Stars  2 is great (although it doesn't save progress), but my setup is too slow for NBA Jam and Open Ice.

...as of now.

Tecmo Bowl is one of those rare games that was better on the early home consoles.  I thought the arcade version kind of stunk.

Tommy,

What kind of system are you running to be able to play those?...

I have the real Blitz pcb, I assume that game is what made you ask what system i'm running.

AMD Athlon64 3200+ overclocked, 1 GB DDR.

I always liked Hit the Ice too.

Yeah that game is the best on mame, not that bad on genesis or snes, but thats always been one of my favorite sports games.
Weird trivia, did anyone know that Hit the Ice was supposed to be the first hockey RPG for NES?
