How do you get non-jamma boards to play in a jamma cab?

say for games like pac-man etc and oldies that arent jamma boards - what do you need in order to get these to work in a jamma cab? is there a converter of some sort

There are converteres and BYO schematics available for many of the classic non-jamma cabs. Don't expect to find one for every game or really obscure stuff though.

You have to make a convertor for EACH board, unless the board falls into a category such as "Konami classics pinout"...

ah i see. so you make the converter from a fingerboard and actually solder it in place?

You can buy pre-built adaptors that are placed between the JAMMA harness and the game's pcb. They range in price depending on the game. You could likely make your own, too, if you feel like it. I'm too lazy, though. All the re-wiring is held on the finger board, though. It's removeable and doesn't damage the original board or the harness. It's not uncommon that there is also power wired into the finger board, too, because it may not be supplied properly by the JAMMA harness.

I make all my own adaptors. It isn't very hard.
