Gutted Jukebox Cab
« on: June 24, 2005, 09:48:45 am »
Hi All.  I'm a returning/new BYOAC member.   Spent a lot time here 3-4 years ago - at least one msg board back.  I built a Taito Egret MAME machine and now I'm working on a jukebox cabinet.

I found this on ebay:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13721&item=6188628795&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I figured if I can start withone gutted, it will be easier then starting from scratch.  I'm debating the whole "build" thing.

Anyway....I'm in NY, this cabinet is in MN.  The guy told me it's $300 to ship it.  Even if I win it cheap, it's not going to be in the end.

SO,  anyone looking for a gutted CD juke, check it out.

BTW - if you know of any gutted CD jukebox cab's in the upstate NY or northeast PA area,  I'd appreciate knowing about it.

I hate people who anser questions like I'm about to answer this one:

Build one.  :)

$300 is a LOT of money.  You could EASILY build one for a LOT less than that.

Either that or look locally.  NY has to have a lot of old jukes...somewhere..  :D

Sorry to answer a "how do I?" questions with a "don't" answer...I usually leave that to ceartain others...but $300 seems like WAY too much to me...I just finished building my first one..I already had the PC and moitor and keypad, but I would guess you could build one for under $300 pretty darn easily.

That's why I'm not bidding for it with $300 shipping.

I know I can build it cheaper.   If I could get a gutted one cheap I'd go that route.    This just isn't the right deal.

BUT for someone in MN it could be a great deal.

Location is everything. I have three old jukeboxes (one gutted) that I can't get rid of. I'm in Oklahoma.
