Hi, long time reader, first time poster... Feel like I'm on talk radio.
I've finally gotten around to building my first cabinet - and it came out not too bad, really.
As many others, I based it on Lusid's plans.
Like many others, I spent MUCH time searching for more info on said plans.
So, having learned (at least I'd like to think) from that experience, I redrew the plans (with a few modifications) in ACAD so the next few I build go a bit easier. I have found that friends now want me to build them one. I also found I have a few more friends than I thought.

I made a few changes:
Added full dimensions. Got tired of counting squares.
Added a side view showing where all the cross panels go - this one had me stumped at first - I had to do the little cardboard mockup thing to get mine right.
Shortened the speaker panel - it seemed overkill to have it extend that far back when the monitor bezel will hide most of it (at least I think so).
Did a full dimensioned side panel drawing. Had trouble drawing in the cuts near the radiused curve at the front. Hopefully my drawing is a bit clearer - it may even have too much info.
Showed how the cross panels recess from the edge to make t-molding slot cutting a tad easier.
Added a few angles to neaten things up.
Carried a few panel dimensions out to fractions of inches.
Added space where possible between cuts to account for saw kerf.
Heres the bottom line: I appeal to the experts to take a quick glance, and let me know if it all looks reasonable BEFORE I start cutting again - my first attempt was put together/taken apart, well, a lot, before I was happy. Hoping to avoid this again.
Once I build from these plans, I'll verify that all the measurements match up. They should, ACAD did the measuring. Until then, use at your own risk.
And, theres a possibility that they'll help someone else. Thats a plus, too.
Thoughts?
Does the monitor shelf work at this angle? I set it perpendicular to the front slope on the side panels.
Will the speaker panel be long enough?
Are the extra angle cuts really necessary, or are they overkill?
Comments?
Ed, somebody already did this - you just didn't search hard enough...
Cool - it looks reasonable...
Ed, you use way too many ellipsis...
Finally:
Heres the link. Files are .pdf . I can make the .dwg available if anyones interested.
