What games come on a 39-in-1 board?
« on: June 16, 2005, 04:30:41 pm »
I was thinking about building a machine that would run a short list of vertical games like the 39-in-1, but I don't know what it runs or what the front-end looks like or anything. Also, how many buttons does it need? Just 1?

Good deal! Thanks for the link.

Do you know of any other good vertical games that aren't included that have a cocktail mode? I'd like to keep this thing pretty much classic, but if some game is really that good I'd be open to suggestion.

Almost all vertical games have cocktail mode, or at least about 90 percent of them do.

The gamelist on the 39 in 1 is crud, mixes 4-way, 8-way and trackball like it doesn't even matter.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

I figured the vast majority of vertical games were cocktail.

I'm not planning on using the 39-in-1 board. I just figured it might be a good start. I'll be using t-stick pluses for mode switching and possibly trackballs for those games. I'd like to have trackballs, but they're very expensive.

How about Star Castle.  Yes, it's a Vector game, but I remember playing it on a Cocktail cab.

I've got a bartop vertical that I weeded through a game list for. I'll post that list this evening when I return to my abode.
