Anyone remember Time Killers???
« on: June 15, 2005, 03:29:39 pm »
I always used to play Time Killers when I was at my backwoods hometown mall up in Vermont. That game was so great... i just remember sawing peoples arms and legs off and making them bounce around and head butt you to try and win... Good times.
And then there was Galaga at the local movie theatre... but I ramble.

I remember it!  It was a game that tried to cash in on the gore factor alone.  It was decent fun to play when in the right mindset.  But as a whole, the game wasnt very sound.

Wow I dug it. I always played Rancid. It did eat my quarters quickly. Still when it is in the 7-11 right by the house and nothing else is around and the games won't change for a few weeks. You learn. Also Speaking of Galaga. I was waiting for a breakfast burrito the other day in some Mexican place that I have never been too. I popped in a quarter in a machine and nothing happened. It wanted 50 cent! 50 cents to play Galaga!! That sucks. Well I still played. Galaga Rocks  8)

It's even more violent than Mortal Kombat
WTB: The Grid by Midway (2001), looking for 2 or more complete games, and large marquee

Heres to that!

I now own my own Galaga Cabinet that is in the middle of a serious restoration project, but Time Killers is on the list for the future basement gameroom! along with a Modded XBOX cabinet with all of the good arcade games and fighters ripped to the upgraded HDD.

And thats all I can realistically thinik about until I have room for a Pole Position Cockpit!!!! :o

Unfortunately I remember the game  :-X

It's one of those games that you either love it or hate it. Personally I thought it sucked, but to each there own.

Time Killers got alot of media attention when they released, so much so that we (me and the guys I worked with) bit and had to go check it out. Man what a disappointment. Yeah it was ultra-violent, but the graphics were horrible (characters looked like they were drawn by a high-school kid) and gameplay even worse.
NO MORE!!

No, it isn't. I'd rather play Fighter's History.

What amazes me is that as bad as Time Killers was, Bloodstorm's worse. Apparently the developers didn't learn any lessons.

This is a great thread.  I just pulled a working Time Killers board out of a machine.  Any offers before it hits e-bay?  PM me.  Got the marquee also...

Ah yes, good old Strata Time Killers. We bought several of these conversion kits. They did very well on the route. It was one of the early Jamma STEREO sound gameboards and I wired each and every one of these games up with stereo speakers in the cabinet. Sure made a big difference in the cashbox. My boss was very pleased with the money this title produced.
